| From the Street... to the Studio... to the Stage Jen Holland is what some may call a genius of versatility The multi-cultured beauty raised in New York's Lower East Side writes her own songs and performs them with an energy, soul and dramatic stage presence. Prince, Tina Turner, AAliyah, were some of her inspirations as were DAngelio, Tu Pac, Yaz, Wu Tang and Missy Elliot. Jen started in the arts at an early age with tap, modern dance and vocal training attending The Third Street Music School in New York City. While training in voice stage performance she had the opportunity to sing for The Care Organizations national ad campaign song. At The High School of Performing Arts Jen studied Gospel and music theory while appearimg on a dance show called "Its Dance" that aired on WB Channel 11 for 26 weeks. She also appeared in hip hop music videos that aired on Video Music Box. In 2002 the stage welcomed her live band group JC-One to open up for soul artist BILAL at CBGB's in New York City.While writing her own material she colaborated with Big Deal from The Beat Shop who completed her frist solo project "Water". In 2004 she performed her solo act at Downtime in NYC promote the album and release her music video. Jen Holland has performed and many other venues including, The Miller Theater, Joes Public Theater, Nuyorican Cafe, Martinez Gallery, Remote Lounge, The Baggot Inn, The Parkside Lounge , Sensa, The Lobby, The Nightingale Lounge, and is currently to rockin all over NYC with The Brooklyn Blues. Her music video Too Late plays on rotation on local video programs including Vandalize TV Fridays on Time Warner Manhattan Channel 57. The songbird can be heard singing on underground albums with Guru of Gangstar, Killah Priest, Devine, A.G.R , Big Deal, Harlem 6 and many other up and coming artists. In 2006 she did vocals on Okai's Dekonstruction of The Mind produced by Ayatollah which is currently on sale in stores nationwide. Jen Holland is bringing something fresh to the table with her new-ish R & B w/ an edge, style and war like tactics. With her talent and spirit Jen Holland destined for greatness.... |
