Her songs evoke the joys and trials of life and love, with melodies that stay with you long after the song is over...."Music has always been in my heart and on my mind." recalls the 16-year-old. Alexandra started singing at a very young age, and even then, the voice coming out of this young girl was impressive. She wrote her first song in the fourth grade, started playing piano at age four and taught herself how to play guitar in the last year to make it easier to perform on stage.
Alexandra Kelly performs in NYC & NJ. She recently appeared at both CBGB Gallery and The Bitter End, singing her original songs and engaging audiences with her natural presence on the stage. After one of her shows, a music industry executive applauded her amazing voice and her 'girl next door' appeal....
In 2005, barely fifteen, Alexandra, encouraged by her music teacher, competed with middle and high school students from the entire New York metropolitan area and was voted the winner of WOR710 Radio Shining Star Talent Search. The selection of the six finalists was made by an industry panel, including a Sony Music executive.
The call-in vote for the winner was made by the listening public. Singing the winning song that she wrote, Alexandra performed in front of an audience of 3500. She was interviewed on radio and performed live on a nationally syndicated radio show. Her poise charmed everyone. Pop Icon and Broadway star Debra Gibson, the first winner of the WOR competition introduced her by declaring that she was "... just years away from a Grammy".
Alexandra Kelly's voice brings uniqueness to all types of music. Her songs always create a special connection with the audience. She can evoke the beautiful drama of a classical Italian song and even sings lead vocals for a rock band from time to time! She also performs the National Anthem for the NJ Jackals Baseball Team and local events.
Alexandra's passion and enthusiasm infuse her live shows with energy and excitement. She works with famous New York City vocal coach Dr. Bill Riley, who has coached such talents as Celine Dion, Shakira and Faith Hill. Alexandra is currently recording, and always adding to her catalog of original songs.
