Il n'y a pas 6 mois, les "Albertos" (dénomination ironique haïtienne), composé de jeunes et talentueux artistes, musiciens et chanteurs vivant dans des quartiers populaires de Port-au-prince. Haïti, survivaient, tant bien que mal, en se produisant deux fois par semaine dans un restaurant de Pétionville pour quelques petits dollars.
En quelques mois, "les Albertos" ont gravi les échelons de la réussite grâce à leurs talents et au producteur-auteur-compositeur français JP Lafitte qui décida de travailler avec eux sur un hymne à la vie pour le Groupe de Support contre le Cancer. Six month ago Les ALbertos , a group of young talented artists musicians and singers, living in the slums of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, were surviving as they could with small and not generous contracts. Music for food was what kept them going!
In few months Les Albertos are walking up the ladder of recognition with the willingness of a French composer and publisher, JP Lafitte, whom took the challenge of composing with them an Anthem for Life specially written for the local Haitian cancer society.
Jp Lafitte with the help of his foundation UNITON designed to help kids wishing to learn anything related to music, from composing to recording and mixing says Haiti is not only what you hear in your local news! Haiti is a gigantic tank fill up with humble but fantastic people. In my world wide experience, I have never seen and met so many artists of any kind per square foot !
Mozart was lucky to have so many acquaintances to help his talent which is not at all the case in this poor country for all these young and unknown artists. In Haiti, it is a very different story! - Musicians are considered as lazy and creasy and are often rejected.
International labels have other priorities and show-business hunters are not really stepping foot on the land of the first and free black republic of the history of the world. Too Bad but this is not going to affect the young Albertos. - we love to compose and play. - For us music is not a genre or a rhythm, music is a state of mind. Today we experience with easy listening, tomorrow we ll compose and play what ever comes out of our head, leaps and fingers !
Here, in Haiti, we love the Albertos They are true, they are good, they are us. This first Album is the tip of the iceberg and we hope and wish that with the thousand of listeners from around the Globe, The Albertos will have a chance to publish a second Album.
